Programm
Putting the pressure where it hurts
To push through our demands, we sometimes need to build up pressure that extends beyond the workplace. We’ll be discussing public relations – from press releases to boycotts – and exploring the opportunities and risks involved.
(Ursin)
The workhorse strikes again
A mini role-play about the different types of people in a profit-driven organisation: Some want to organise the workforce, whilst others want to stop that from happening.
(Hermann and Robin)
Results of the structural retreat
In early May, FAU members met to discuss how our structures can be adapted to function even more effectively. We’d like to share the results with you.

A look back at the mobilisation in the Vaud public service
In November and December 2025, there was a historic mobilisation in the canton of Vaud against austerity measures in the public sector: there were massive strikes and several demonstrations, each attracting around 20,000 participants – a historic figure. A member of the FAU reports on his direct and active experience on the ground and outlines what trade unions can learn from this mobilisation.

Zürich Solidarisch reports on its work
They are a left-wing, anti-capitalist group that supports rent and labour struggles from the grassroots up – often successfully.
(Lukas and Nico)
Forming a syndicate
The FAU has members throughout Switzerland. In recent years, people have repeatedly come together to set up new trade unions. But how do you go about doing this successfully, and how does this lead to the creation of a trade union capable of taking action? Two members of the Social Services Sector Trade Union share their experiences and lessons learnt. Build up the FAU – take matters into your own hands! In this presentation and workshop, we’ll show you how it’s done!
